Love it or hate it, it would be pretty safe to say that AI is going to be here to stay. I would encourage everyone working in IT to be working to gain at least a basic understanding of what AI is and how they may be able to leverage it in their daily work. Before we can use it safely and effectively we must first understand the beast that we're dealing with. While AI could prove to be a tremendous productivity multiplier in your daily work routine, it may have devastating consequences for you and your organization if not used responsibly.

Which AI tool do I use? Well, it seems to depend on what you are hoping to achieve with AI. Most seem to be better suited for certain types of work than others. For example, if you're trying to create an image you might want to just use Copilot or Gemini. If you are writing software you might want to check out Claude or Claude Code.
One of the keys to success is learning how to continually write better and better prompts for whichever AI tool you are using. You remember the old saying, "Garbage In - Garbage Out". Same applies to how we use our AI tools.
