If you're not using 802.1X to control access to your network yet, you should. 802.1X provides a high level of network access control with relatively little effort. Nearly all devices that connect to the network now days support it. For how easy it is to configure you really can’t afford not to use it.
In the year 2000 I thought I'd never have to know about any other networking products than Cisco. I spent the first 15 years of my career steeped in the Cisco world and wasn't really interested in anything else out there. Well, the times are a changing. As Cisco began its steady decline another contender stepped into the ring. Fortinet had been around for a few years but was a kind of sleeping giant. By the time that Cisco had run their once world class products into the ground Fortinet had pretty well perfected theirs and were ready to begin to take over the enterprise.
